Ogun holds independence service
A special church service has been held by the Ogun state government commemorating the 57th independence anniversary of the country with prayers offered for the unity, progress and development of the country with messages of hope for a better Nigeria.
The service held at the Cathedral church of saint peters Ake, Abeokuta the state capital attracted members of the state executive council, traditional rulers, service chiefs and traditional rulers from the state
In her message at the event , the state deputy governor mrs Yetunde Onanuga who represented the state governor Ibikunle Amosun expressed the need for more prayers, unity and peaceful co existence to restore the glory of the country
Giving his sermon at the occasion the bishop of Remo diocese, Bishop Olusina Fape sees hope despite missed opportunities and the multi various challenges facing the country
The state deputy governor in her own message at the occasion stressed the need for Nigerians to be more committed to the socio economic development of the country and always resolve their differences with dialogue rather than resulting to violence
As the country and its people celebrate the 57th year of independence, it is expected that all Nigerians reflect and work towards ways of putting the country on the path of growth and progress for the good of all.
