The federal government has held a funeral church service for the Late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.

The interdenominational service which held at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, on Friday had many dignitaries in attendance including First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

GALAXYTV reports that the Body of the former COAS arrived the Ecumenical Centre at exactly11.15am for the Church Service.

The Funeral service was also attended by dignitaries from both Nigeria and Foreign countries.

The Emotion filled service also had in attendance, very senior military officers.

Senator Remi Tinubu who was sober at the service described the former army chief as a gallant and great soldier who served his fatherland meritoriously .

She said general Lagbaja fought a good fight and her thought and prayers remain with the his wife, children, friends, family, colleagues and Associates.

Other dignitaries present at the funeral service include;  FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, Former SGF, Boss Mustapha, Oba of Lagos and Among others.

General Lagbaja will be buried at the national military cemetery airport road Abuja later today
