Igboho Institutes Suites against DSS, Demands N500 Million, Public Apology

Yoruba Activist, Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho has instituted a legal tussle against the Department of State Security Service demanding N500m as reparation for damages of properties during an attack on his residence.

Igboho through his Counsel, Yomi Alliyu SAN, said the money is for the damage to his exotic cars that include Mercedes Benz G-Class and 2019 Lexus Car during the invasion of his residence in Ibadan by the DSS on Thursday.

He also demands a public apology and an investigation into the actions of the various security operatives led by DSS that raided his house with a view to sanctioning them and release all the innocent people arrested and compensate the families of those murdered.

Aliu in a statement said One thousand Euro, two million Naira, expensive pieces of jewellery worth millions, travel documents, amulets, iPhone 12 belonging to him, phones of about 15 others living in the house including those killed by the raiders and other belongings yet to be identified belonging to his wives were carted away.

On the issue of gun allegedly found in the house, Igboho’s counsel said the rampaging operatives were disappointed that they could not find a single gun or ammunition in his client's house hence they arrested two police escorts of Igboho’s house and added their guns to those harvested from their armoury with a view to making members of the public to believe that his client keeps militia.

While demanding further action against Igboho’s rights, Aliu said trampling on his client’s fundamental rights including tagging him a criminal by exhibiting DSS guns as his should stop forthwith.
