Lamido Joins Race, Threatens Legal Action over Perceived Illegal Practices
Former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has threatened to take legal action against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) after he was reportedly denied access to purchase the nomination form to contest for the position of National Chairman.
Lamido, who arrived at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday, said he was denied access to the form. He described the action as undemocratic and contrary to the values the party represents.
Speaking to journalists, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs said he intends to contest at the PDP National Convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
He, however, warned that he would seek legal redress if the situation is not addressed. Lamido regretted the situation adding that the action does not reflect the democracy the party stands for.
