Mob kill civil servant over bag theft
A group of youths from Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital beat a civil servant with the Bayelsa state Arts ministry to death for allegedly stealing a school bag in a bag shop.
The father of four who was said to have been clubbed to death by some group of community youths with wood and other dangerous weapons led to eye-witnesses lamenting the circumstances relating to his death.
The remains of Late Stephen Nickson who is a native of the Southern Ijaw community was reddened by blood stains.
The son of the deceased and a co-worker denied that Late Stephen was a thief.
Meanwhile, the Bayelsa police command safer Bayelsa patrol team could do nothing to stop the killing as they arrived late when the mob action had been carried out, while the lifeless body of the civil servant was later taken to a local mortuary.
