FG, World Bank Set to Train 10 Million Youths in skills Acquisition

Towards reducing the rate of unemployment among Nigerian Youth, the Federal Government with the support of the World Bank, is set to engage Ten Million Youth in Skills Acquisition. The Initiative under the Nigerian Youth Employment Skills Acquisition Fund, also Seeks to encourage Skills Acquisition among the Youth.

 

The Skills Acquisition Initiative by the Federal Government through the Ministry the Federal Ministry of Education is with the Support of the World Bank towards reducing the rate of unemployment in the country.

 

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, represented by his Technical Assistant, Mambilla Muhammed and the National Project Coordinator, Nigerian Youth Employment Skills Acquisition Funds, Blessing Ogwu, said the intervention aimed at addressing skills gap and promoting employability among Nigerian Youth.

 

Also, the Representative of the World Bank and an Education Expert, Dr. Mistura Adedoyin, said Bank's intervention was to encourage skills Acquisition among Nigerian Youth and reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.

 

Some of the Training Service Providers at the workshop lauded the Initiative of the Federal Government with the support of the World Bank noting that Skills Acquisition remains the way out of Economic Crisis facing Countries of the world. The Six months Training for the Youths in different areas of the Economy is to equip them with Skills and competencies to succeed in the work place.
