APC elects guber flag bearer in Benue
All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue state has conducted its governorship primaries. Emmanuel Jime is now the party's flag bearer.
Emmanuel Jime, the APC flag bearer emerged through a consensus primary among five other aspirants in the race who resolved to concede and work together.
This development became known to the members after long hours of deliberation from leaders of the party.
Delegates across the state who had earlier gathered at the venue were later informed by the leader of the electoral committee to accept the outcome of primaries. The state party leader, however, assured them of 100 per cent victory come 2019 general election.
One of the aspirants who spoke on behalf of others said, after the intervention of the leaders, they have decided and resolved to concede through consensus in the interest of the party.
Meanwhile, the party flag bearer, and APC governorship candidate, Emmanuel Jime, thanked fellow aspirants, leaders, and delegates for their sacrifices and called on them to help him deliver the onerous task ahead.
The leaders of the party later raised the candidates’ hands before the delegates as the chosen one.
