Jonathan preaches peace ahead Bayelsa elections
Ahead of the November sixteen governorship election in Bayelsa state, former president of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan has cautioned politicians vying for the number one seat in the state to embrace peace and shun all forms of political violence.
He gave the caution in Yenagoa during a leadership workshop organized by the Ijaw elders Forum with the theme Credible Governorship Election 2019 and Good Governance in Bayelsa state.
Speaking at the forum, the former president said politicians vying to lead the people must play down violence.
On his part, the Bayelsa deputy Governor Rear Admiral John Jonah retired call on the next administration to build on their legacies.
The local government elections are expected to hold in the state next month while the governorship election is scheduled for November.
