Obasanjo Commission Newly Built Bus Terminal
A former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has officially commissioned the newly built Ibadan Central Bus Terminals 1 and 2 at Iwo Road, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The inauguration ceremony drew a host of dignitaries, including top government officials, traditional rulers, political leaders, and other prominent personalities from across the state.
In his remarks, Chief Obasanjo described Ibadan as the capital of Yorubaland and lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for his visionary leadership and commitment to improving the quality of life for residents of the state.
He urged stakeholders and the public to make responsible and judicious use of the new facilities, noting that the project would go a long way in easing traffic congestion within Ibadan and across the South-West region.
Governor Seyi Makinde, in his address, explained that the establishment of the terminals was aimed at enhancing transportation efficiency, convenience, and mobility for residents. He assured that his administration would continue to engage traditional rulers and consult with the original landowners affected by the circular road corridors, with a view to resolving any lingering concerns surrounding the project.
