President Tinubu Transmits Cocoa Management Board Bill 2025 To Reps
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has transmitted the National Cocoa Management Board (Establishment) Bill, 2025 to the House of Representatives for consideration and passage.
In a letter addressed to the Speaker, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and read on the floor of the House, President Tinubu said the request was made pursuant to Section 58 (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).
The President explained that the proposed legislation seeks to establish a National Cocoa Management Board to regulate, promote, and harmonize cocoa-related activities across the country, as well as address other connected matters.
According to him, the creation of the board will ensure effective coordination of the cocoa value chain, enhance standards, and strengthen Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global cocoa economy.
At the Committee of supply, the House approved the report of the Committee on Aids, Loans and Debt Management on the N1.15 trillion domestic borrowing plan to close the unfunded 2025 budget deficit gap.
