INEC approves more registration centers
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved the allocation of ten additional registration centers to Bayelsa state.
The approval which is coming after several complain by civil society groups in the state was announced during a stakeholders meeting at the INEC headquarters in Yenagoa, the state’s capital.
Fielding questions from newsmen, the administrative secretary of the commission Clement Oha spoke on what led to the approval.
On their part, the state chairmen of the Civil Liberties Organisation and the inter party agency described it as a good step.
The additional ten centers by INEC increased the number of registration units to nineteen from the initial nine.
