Reactions trail CCT judgment
Reactions have continued to trail the ruling by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), acquitting the senate president, Bukola Saraki of the 18-count charge levied against him.
Reacting to the ruling, supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) thronged the party secretariat in Kwara state, jubilating over the judgement.
As the members of APC expressed their pleasures over the ruling, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state condemned the ruling at the party secretariat.
As part of the ways of expressing their happiness, the APC supporters were sighted distributing t-shirts bearing the name of the Senate president, while others who could not hold back their joy, joined the celebration as they danced to music being provided.
Addressing journalists at the secretariat, the state party chairman, Ishola Balogun Fulani said he believes from the onset that the politically motivated trial will not succeed as it lacks substance.
The judgments he added has reinforced the belief in the non partisan nature of the nation’s judiciary and thanked everyone for standing by the senate president especially members of the National Assembly.
