US Based Igbo Veterans Advocate Nigeria's Return To Regional Autonomy

The United States Military Veterans of Igbo Descent (AVID) have expressed confidence that a return of Nigeria to

1960/63 regional autonomy is the only way to mitigate its socio-economic and security problems currently facing the country.

In a statement jointly signed by Dr  Sylvester Onyia, and Dr Godson Obiagwu, President and Secretary of AVID respectively urged the federal government to listen to the yearning of Nigerians for restructuring of the country.

The body described the state of the nation as not so encouraging noting that, it is high time for political leaders and other stakeholders to come together and channel a workable way forward for the country.

The military veterans also commended president Bola Tinubu for signing the South-East Development Commission bill into law adding that, the move further ensure development in the region.

They however reiterated the call for immediate release of the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu saying, political solution must be adopted in resolving the situation.
