Normalcy Return to Soka after Reported Attack on Igboho Residence

Normalcy has returned to Soka Area of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital following the reported attack on the residence of Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho.

The reports of the incident had dominated most of the media across Nigeria.

Our Correspondent learnt that some unknown gunmen, around 1.30 am attacked the Soka, Ibadan residence of the Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a. Igboho but nobody was hurt in the midnight invasion.

The gunmen, it was learnt reportedly fired sporadic gunshots, causing panic and morbid fear among the neighbourhood.

It was gathered that the gunmen failed to accomplish their mission when guards at the residence of Igboho repelled the attackers with superior gunfire.

Our Correspondent who visited this scene reports that normalcy has returned to the area as people were seen going about their usual activities.

Some of the Igboho men were equally seen manning strategic positions in the area to repel any form of attack.

When contacted, the media aide to the Yoruba Activist, Olayomi Koiki confirmed the attack and promised to speak with our crew later in the day.

Igboho, it will be recalled, has been in the news for his condemnation of various killings, kidnapping and attacks on innocent citizens in South-West Nigeria.
