Police arrest suspected arms supplier, parade others.

Operatives of the Special Tactical Squad have arrested a 30-year-old woman identified as Hauwa Yusuf for hiding one AK-47 and four AK magazines inside a sack of garri.

Yusuf was arrested along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway during a stop-and-search operation.

The Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this while parading several suspects apprehended for different heinous criminal acts across the country at the STS Headquarters in Abuja on Friday.

Adejobi added that Yusuf confessed that a notorious bandit terrorising Katsina State, Aminu Basullube, sent her to take delivery of the arms in Danum Madam Camp, Katsina State.

Aside from Hauwa Yusuf, the Force announced the arrest of 2,726 suspects in high profile criminal cases, recovered 150 firearms, 1788 ammunition and rescued 207 kidnapped victims within one month.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, this decisive action underscored the Force relentless efforts to combat crimes and bring perpetrators to justice.

The suspects according to Adejobi, have equally confessed to the commission of the various offences ranging from armed robbery to kidnapping.

 

He said the parade served as a testament of the police force dedicated to protecting the lives and property of the Nigerian citizens.

 

 

The Force Public Relations Officer urged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by providing timely information that can aid in the investigation and apprehension of criminal elements.
