Reps Commends FIRS
The House of Representatives has commended the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), led by Executive Chairman Zacch Adedeji, for its effective performance since he assumed office.
House Committee on Finance Chairman, Hon. James Faleke, extended the commendation during an oversight visit to FIRS’s headquarters and its new 16-story permanent site, currently under construction in Abuja’s Central Business District.
Faleke said the committee commended FIRS management, staff, and the contractor, CCECC, for a job well done saying the work is impressive, and where they had questions, answers were provided. They added that they satisfied with the progress.
He noted that the new building, which began in 2011, is now 65% complete and scheduled for finalization by the last quarter of next year.
Faleke assured FIRS of the committee’s continued support, acknowledging FIRS’s vital role in the nation’s economic growth.
Executive Chairman Zacch Adedeji expressed gratitude to the lawmakers for their support and pledged that FIRS, under his leadership, would continue to meet its targets and effectively manage its budget.
