PDP Reps Caucus Asks FG to Release Council Funds

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Caucus in the House of Representatives has urged the APC-led federal government to obey court judgments on the validity of local government elections in Osun State and release funds due to the councils.

Caucus Leader, Hon. Fredrick Agbedi, who spoke after an emergency meeting in Abuja, described the withholding of funds as “anti-democratic” and insisted that due process must be respected.

The lawmakers also congratulated Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun on his confirmation as PDP National Chairman, praising the party’s smooth leadership transition. On insecurity, they decried widespread killings across several states, accusing the government of failing to protect citizens and worsening hardship.

The Caucus further demanded payment of indigenous contractors, accusing the administration of favoring foreign firms, and vowed to keep the government accountable.
