Benue state police command has paraded 29 persons arrested for various crime offences among them is a gang of notorious kidnapper and armed robbery suspects who were said to have been terrorizing the people of the state particularly the Aliade-Otukpo-Enugu road.

The state police commissioner, Bashir Makama, who paraded them before newsmen at the command headquarters, said this gang of syndicate has been responsible for series of atrocities both in Benue and neighboring Taraba State, adding that the law has finally caught up with them.

The suspects, Monday Iorgouga, Alias Yahooze, Mvendega Abu, Alias Wasco, Terve Tse alias Tor tiv and Mrs Kathrine Ukolo, wife of their kingpin Isaac Nenge Alias Kasco who is at large.  But Yahooze and Wasco in an interview with the journalists confessed to their crimes.

In a related development a group of young men were also arrested and paraded for kidnapping a pastor whom they allege was chasing another man’s wife but one of the young men, Kpenkpen Terkumnur denied being kidnappers, during interview the pastor who also denied allegation stated that he was seized and ransom demanded from him.

The police commissioner says arms and ammunition, and other items were recovered including vehicles, noting that the command is on top the situation over other crime-related offences in the state particularly these ember months.

The police however appeal to the public to remain calm and report suspicious moves the police or any other security agencies.
