Police Neutralize Kidnappers, Arrest Armed Robbers.

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have neutralized seven suspected kidnappers, arrested five armed robbery suspects, and recovered weapons and stolen vehicles in Delta and Kaduna States. In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the operations as part of intensified efforts to ensure public safety through intelligence-led policing and swift tactical response.
According to the statement, police operatives in Delta State, in collaboration with local vigilantes and anti-cult volunteers, engaged a group of suspected kidnappers along the Abraka Railway axis. The encounter resulted in the deaths of four suspects and the recovery of one AK-47 rifle with thirteen rounds of live ammunition.
In a separate operation on the Ughelli–Patani Road, another gunfight ensued when kidnappers in a shuttle bus opened fire on police officers during a stop at Ewhereni Junction. Three suspects were neutralized, and one AK-47 rifle loaded with eighteen rounds of ammunition was recovered. Police investigations revealed the suspects belonged to a notorious kidnapping syndicate operating in the region.
Meanwhile, in Kaduna State, police operatives apprehended five members of an armed robbery gang responsible for a series of attacks across the state. The operation followed the theft of a Toyota Hilux vehicle from the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja on May 28, 2025.The suspect, Mohammed Kabir from Zamfara State, was arrested after a high-speed chase near Zaria. Subsequent follow-ups led to the recovery of a Toyota Camry abandoned along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway and other stolen vehicles, including a Honda CR-V and another Toyota Camry (1998 model).
Three additional suspects, Ibrahim Bala, Abdulsalam Abdullahi, and Abdulraman Muktar, confessed to vehicle thefts in Nasarawa State. Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the officers for their swift response and tactical efficiency. He emphasized the importance of synergy between security agencies and local stakeholders in tackling criminality, urging Nigerians to provide timely intelligence to aid security operations. The IGP assured the public that the Force remains resolute in its efforts to dismantle criminal networks and restore peace to all troubled communities.
