The vice chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Northern region has said that capital punishment for cattle rustling is not the immediate solution to insecurity in the region.

 He said this in Kaduna during an exclusive interview with galaxy TV correspondent Bosan Yakusak in the state capital.

Rev Dr. Joseph Hayep said if the government is sincere in tackling insecurity then the issues that initially led to the insecurity should be dealt with first.

Rev Hayep also said that the federal government wants to create more problems for itself by establishing the herdsmen radio saying some other group might start agitating for the same treatment.
