EFCC hand over 111m looted fund to Kwara government
The economic and financial crimes commission has presented the sum of one hundred and eleven million Naira recovered from suspected Kwara treasury looters to the state government.
The head of the Ilorin zonal office of the EFCC, Isyaku Sharu while presenting the recovered loots explained that the monies were recovered from those who allegedly misappropriated landed properties of an investment outfit of the state government, harmony holdings.
Parts of the loots were also recovered from those who diverted funds meant for micro, small and medium scale credit scheme. Among these suspects are public office holders, top civil servants and a traditional ruler.
The Kwara state governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq personally collected the recovered loot and promised to use the money for government's social investment programme.
Abdulrazaq assured the people of Kwara state that their resources are in good hands, promising that better days are ahead.
He commended the EFCC for the effort and urged Nigerians to give them maximum support for the success of the anti-corruption efforts.
