The Nigeria Football Federation have decided to arrange two high-level friendly matches for the Super Eagles ahead of the team’s key World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon in August.

Nigeria, who lead Group B, face the new African champions twice in five days, first on 28 August in Uyo then on 2 September in Cameroon as the 2018 World Cup qualifiers enter the crucial stages.

The NFF executive committee on Tuesday in Abuja made the friendlies decision along with several others, including giving full support to president Amaju Pinnick in his quest for a seat on the Confederation of African Football executive committee.

The NFF also proposed to bar state governments or individuals from owning more than one club in the Nigeria Professional Football League or other leagues from next season, meaning Abia State have to either merge Enyimba and Abia Warriors or sell off one of them.

According to the communique of the meeting, contained in an NFF press release, the NFF also called for more finiancial transparency and promised support for Nigerian clubs participating in CAF competitions.

The football body also commiserated with sports minister Solomon Dalung on the unfortunate death of his wife.
