Ortom presents 178bn as 2018 budget

Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom has presented a budget proposal of 178 billion Naira for the 2018 fiscal year.


Governor Ortom who presented the Budget christened it, ”Rural transformation consolidation budget” for consideration and appropriation is for the collective development of the Benue people.

While presenting the 2018 budget of 178 billion which is below the 2017 budget of 183 billion, the governor assured that the state would take advantage of a number of opportunities, despite the recession in the country.

Meanwhile, the speaker of the state house of assembly, Tekemb Ikyangi, who after receiving the budget presentation, says the house would ensure that the budget meets the present realities on the ground, unlike previous years.

The governor says there is no shortcut to economic development just as he called for collective relationships from all arms of government.
