LG Elections: Court Throws Out Political Parties Case against LASIEC
A Federal High Court in Lagos has thrown out the case which was filed by eleven political parties against the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission.
The presiding judge, Justice Akintayo Aluko said that he does not have the jurisdiction to entertain the case so it should be transferred to the state high court.
Recall that the eleven political parties have asked theĀ Federal High Court, to stop the scheduled July 24, local government election in Lagos State, due to the failure of the Lagos State Independent Election Commission (LASIEC) to register them for the Election.
However, the local government election is still slated to hold on the 24th of July, 2021 between 8 am to 3 pm.
