INEC tasks officers on voters' education
Ahead of the 2019 year general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has charged its desk officers in the southwest to embark on massive voter education for the credibility of the polls.
The resident electoral commissioner in Oyo state, Mutiu Agboke while speaking at the zonal capacity building for desk officers at the state and local government levels on voter education; stated that the exercise is aimed at improving the electoral process and consequently deepening democracy at the grassroots.
The resident electoral commissioner who was represented by the administrative secretary of
the commission, David Asemo tasked the officers to make the best use of the opportunity while the public affairs officer of the commission, Ayodele Folami equally charged the stakeholders to ensure the success of the polls.
Some of the participants at the workshop lauded the initiative of the commission, stressing that it engender high credibility of the given mandate and discourage voter apathy.
