Bayelsa election: INEC promise to remain apolitical
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured Bayelsans that the commission will remain apolitical in ensuring a free, fair and credible election that would be violent free during the November 16th Governorship election.
This was disclosed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the commission Monday Udom-Tom during stakeholders' meeting with party members on the preparedness of the commission.
Addressing stakeholders at the commission's headquarters in Yenagoa, the INEC REC said elections should not be seen as a do or die affair.
On the state of IDP,s displaced by flooding in the state, he stressed that NEMA will address the issue as he had visited the displaced persons in their communities.
Some of the electoral materials such as life vest and boxes meant for coastal communities are already at the INEC headquarters in Yenagoa, while another stakeholders meeting is expected to be held next week before the elections.
