The body, at a News conference held in Ibadan on Monday, said the decision of the state government is against the position of the Supreme Court to deliver its ruling on May 7th 2020 on the case instituted by the Association on the dissolution of local Government Council in the state by the Seyi Makinde’s administration.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the chairman of the Body, Hon. A bass Aleshinloye who addressed newsmen accused the state government of perpetrating illegality adding that members of the Association will wait for the position of the court on the pending matter.

Responding, the Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, Isiaka Olagunju said there is no court ruling stopping the commission from conducting the poll.

Hon. Aleshinloye said as a law-abiding administration, the Government should have exercised patience and allow the court to give a verdict on the matter in court before conducting the poll.

On his part, the Chairman of OYSIEC to conduct credible local government election adding that nothing will distract the body from achieving the aim.
