Youths from the All Progressive Congress, Akida Forum on Tuesday stormed the office of the Department of State Services (DSS) demanding a thorough investigation into the numerous allegations against the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.

The Protesters with placards of various inscriptions maintained that the call is not intended to discredit Minister but to protect the interests of millions of Nigerians and uphold the integrity of the President, security agencies, and particularly the intelligence community.

The leaders of the protesters, Mallam Musa Mahmud, stated that the DSS is best positioned to advise the President to temporarily relieve Matawalle of his position so he can face an investigative panel. Mahmud noted that Matawalle needs to clarify his alleged connections with certain individuals, including Bello Tagoji, Musa Kamarawa, and Ardon Zuru.

He emphasized the group’s duty as loyal party members to advocate for a thorough investigation into these serious claims, to protect the integrity of their party and its leadership. He warned that failing to address these allegations could damage the party’s reputation as well as that of the nation’s security agencies. He remarked that anyone who cares about the party’s reputation should be deeply concerned.
