Warri police area commander debunks crime increase report
The Assistant police commissioner in charge of Warri area command Mohammed Garba has debunked the allegation of increase in criminal activities within Warri and environs.
He refuted the allegation when he received the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta state Governor on security and members of the security monitoring team who was at the command headquarters in Warri to ascertain the present security situation.
Speaking on crime-fighting, the police commander said their only constraint is the Non-availability of patrol vehicles.
He stressed that killings were the order of the day in the past as Governor Okowa security adviser appeal to the police to curb criminal activities.
Cases of cult-related killings have been on the increase in parts of Warri and Udu local government area in recent times, while the state police commissioner Adeyinka Adeleke has announced a 9 pm to 6 am a curfew in affected areas.
