Three States, Anambra, Adamawa and Ebonyi have announced their withdrawal from the suit challenging the Constitution right of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice from the three states, at the resumed hearing on the matter before a seven-man panel of justice, led by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji, 16 Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in 16 states had filed a suit at the Apex court challenging the constitutionality of the laws establishing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and two others.

Galaxy Television reports that the affected states sought the leave of the court to withdraw from the suit on personal ground with different applications. After a unanimous decision, Justice Uwani Abba-Aji,  struck out the names of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Adamawa, Anambra and Ebonyi from the suit challenging the constitutional power of the EfCC and two others.

Meanwhile, three States of Taraba, Imo and Osun have also indicated their intention to be joined in the suit challenging the Constitutional power of the Anti-Graft Commission. The court has therefore reserved its ruling to a date to be communicated to the Counsels.
