Sherrif’s PDP factional office attacked in Ekiti
People suspected to be political thugs have attacked the office of a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) loyal to Ali Modu Sheriff in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state capital, vandalizing the office and tore the flags erected at its frontage.
The group, chaired by Chief Williams Ajayi , has its office located at Nova road, Adebayo area along Ado-Iworoko road in the capital city.
Addressing journalists in ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, the chairman of the Sherrif faction, Williams Ajayi pointed at the Gboyega Oguntuase-led faction, known to be loyal to Governor Ayodele Fayose, as the mastermind of the attack.
The crisis in the Ekiti state PDP came to a height in January 24th when the Federal High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti, in its judgement delivered by Justice Taiwo Taiwo, declared Ajayi the authentic chairman of the party in the state before the Court of Appeal ordered a stay of execution of the judgement.
Williams said the office was attacked in the Wednesday night after all workers have left the office with its flags brought down and the louvre blades of our office.
Efforts to speak with the Makarfi faction, led by the state Governor, Ayodele Fayose are still futile.
