Poverty: FG Calls For Concerted Efforts To End Menace

To eradicate poverty in Nigeria, the Federal Government has advised Nigerians to collaborate with govt in order to resolve the challenge and make the country the richest in the world.

Minister of Budget and Planning, Atiku Bagudu gave the advise at the launch of Citizens Action to End Poverty and Injustice between 2024 - 2034 project which held in Abuja, on Thursday.

Bagudu identified the main cause of poverty in Nigeria to include lack of investment and cumulative decades of corruption.
He stated that local economies can move forwards and can only happen when the Nation have a place of operation, and where citizens become less judgmental.

Executive Director of the Africa CentreLSD, Otive Igbuzor, stressed the need for a governmentalist coalition to pursue the deepening of democracy that will translate to development in a manner that will eradicate poverty and injustice.
