Minister of Interior Inaugurates 7 DCGS of Nigeria Immigration Service

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service Board (CDCFIB) under the Ministry of Interior have decorated 15 DCGs, 7 of which are of the Immigration Service. The affected Officers, according to the Public Relations Officer of the Service and Deputy Controller of Immigration, Kenneth Ido, include DCG IE Anietum, DCG AJ Umannah, DCG CM Dike, DCG GC Didel, DCG A Ayeni, DCG MT Umar and DCG BN Usman.

Speaking at the occasion, the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr Olubumni Tunji-Ojo, said the appointments were strictly based on merit just as he charged them to put extra effort into bequeathing a security system that Nigerians will be proud of. He stated that the era of nepotism is gone hence officers should hold on to the beacon of Hope and be loyal to the Service and Country.

On his part, the Secretary of the CDCFIB, Ja'afaru Ahmed, OFR, congratulated the decorated DCGs and lauded the phenomenal changes namely, timely promotions, securing of more job vacancies as well as life Pensions for DCGs and Comptroller Generals which the Minister and Chairman of the Board has achieved.

In a scripted goodwill message, the Comptroller General of Immigration Service, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsm, congratulated the DCGs and, also, expressed the hope that the appointments will serve as a motivation for the appointees to bring their wealth of experiences to bare. She further extended gratitude to the President, the Renewed Hope Champion, the Honourable Minister and the Secretary of the Board for the unprecedented appointments.

Responding on behalf of the newly decorated Officers, DCG Didel thanked the President for finding them worthy. He appreciated the Honourable Minister and the Board Secretary for their roles, adding that they will contribute positively to justify their elevations. High point of the event was the decoration of the DCGs by the Minister supported by families and their respective relatives.
