Police arrest nine suspects
Nine suspects have been arrested in connection with the killings of police officers in the Ughelli area of Delta State.
The Inspector General of Police,Kayode Egbetokun, who made the disclosure this at a Press Conference in Abuja on Thursday, declared that, those arrested are currently providing the Force with information that will assist in the arrest of those involved in the killings.
Not only that, Egbetokun revealed that the Force is still searching for the bodies of six officers noting that, Police is closing in on the key actors and other parties to the crime while assuring that officers will not rest on their oars until the murder of the police personnel are uncover.
Egbetokun said the force responses to the current internal security threats require strategic deployments that are not only proactive but also technology and intelligence-driven.
Speaking on the Force Achievement recorded so far, Egbetokun disclosed that In the past eight weeks, the Nigeris Police Force, recorded 141 cases of terrorism and secessionist attacks, 557 cases of murder, 126 cases of armed robbery, 214 cases of kidnapping, and 39 cases of unlawful possession of firearms.
Also, during the period under review, the Nigeria Police Force arrested 3686 suspects for their involvement in various crimes, 401 kidnapped victims were rescued, 216 various firearms, 3601 ammunition and 82 vehicles were recovered.
