Over 170 suspects have been arrested within the month of July for various crime offences in BENUE state, the suspects currently in Police custody will face prosecution after investigation as been concluded.

The State Police Commissioner. CP Ifeanyi Emenari, disclosed this at the command headquarters in Makurdi, while addressing journalists that four rocket launchers, 12 AK- 47s, 11 locally made pistols, and four locally fabricated rifles, Four thousand ammunition among other items were recovered from them.

CP Emenari, who said the suspects were arrested for cult - related activities, armed robbery, banditry, culpable homicide among others, in collaboration with other security agencies, assured the BENUE of peace and safety and called on them to avail the police and useful information to nip crime in the bud.
