OPWS assures Benue Govt Of Armed Forces Commitment Against Insurgents
Force Commander Operation Whirl Stroke, Major General Sunday Igbinowanhia, has called on Benue residents to provide timely and useful information to security agencies whenever they notice any suspicious movement in their communities for prompt action.
 
The force commander, stated this when the Deputy Governor, Sam Ode visited personnel of Operation Whirl stroke, Sector 5, Akwu in Agatu Local Government Area following its successful repelling of attack on Okokolo community by armed men suspected to be herders.
 
Major General, Igbinowanhia, informed the Deputy Governor, that a soldier paid the supreme price while two others sustained injuries from the operation, he expressed appreciation to the Deputy Governor for visiting the troops which he said has greatly boosted their morale. 
 
He assured that the armed forces would continue to live up to its responsibilities of securing the territories of the country.
 
Meanwhile, the Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, who represented by his deputy, Sam Ode, further pledged the administration's commitment to support security agencies charged with the responsibility of ensuring safety of lives and property, especially within the state.
 
While he commiserated with the soldiers over the loss of their colleague in the line of duty and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.
 
The Caretaker Chairman, Agatu Local Government Council, Hon. Yakubu Ochepo, appreciated the Governor for his swift response to the community and thanked the officers and men of Operation Whirlstroke for their timely response in securing the community.
