The Akwa Ibom state director of National Population Commission (NPC), Benedict Ukpong has urged residents in the state to embrace attestation of birth certificate exercise.

The state director disclosed this at a press conference as part of the activities marking the 2018 world population day

Ukpong explained that practice of birth affidavit in court will no longer be acceptable in embassies for those traveling out of the country, adding that the NPC is only sole body empowered by law to issue attestation of the birth certificate that is recognised within and outside the country.
