Justice Inyang Ekwo of the federal high court Abuja has refused to strike out the 9 count charge brought against the former Governor, of Anambra state, Willy Obaino.

Galaxy TV reports that the Judge in his ruling, he held that security vote is paid from the Federation account, and the court can not stop the EFCC from prosecuting the case concerning how it was spent.

Obiano had challenged the powers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to prosecute him. He urged the court to strike out the charges against him, describing them as an abuse of court process.

Obiano was arraigned on January 24th on a 9 count charge of theft to the tune of N4bn theft.
