Makinde says pensioner’s welfare will continue to get attention.

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has reiterated his promised that the present administration would pay all pensions arrears owed by the previous administration before 28th of May 2027. Governor Makinde made the promise during a solidarity rally by Oyo State Union of Pensioners to the State Governor in his office today. Governor Makinde was represented by his Deputy Governor, Barr. Adebayo Lawal. 

 

Makinde said that his government would continue to seek for the senior citizens experience and advice on how to meet up with their welfare in the state. He assured Oyo State Pensioners that the present administration would continue to grant requests of pensioners in the state. 

 

In his opening remarks, the Secretary of Oyo State Union of Pensioners, Comrade Olusegun Abatan commended Governor Makinde for his commitment to their welfare, saying that his actions have made retirement attractive to Oyo State Workers.  He said that the Governor's promise to clear all arrears of Pensions on or before May 28, 2027, has given Pensioners hope for a better future.
