Makinde promises to be fair to civil servants
Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde says his administration will be fair to the civil servants in the state stressing that the proposed verification is as a result of the increase in the wage bill of the State.
He disclosed this during an interactive session he held with the civil servants in the state, which was organised in commemoration of 100 days in office of the administration.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Makinde noted that the verification is not to witch-hunt any worker but borne out of the need to prevent payment salaries to those that are not civil servants.
Makinde, who solicited the cooperation of all the workers for the success of the verification exercise, noted that monthly federal allocation to the state was a little above N5 billion ”but pays over N8 billion as wages every month.
