Judicial Panel of Investigation Begins Hearing in Ogun

The judicial panel of investigation set up by the Ogun state government to receive and investigate complaints of victims on police brutality, human rights violations and extrajudicial killings by security operatives within the state has commenced hearing.

Correspondent John Felix reports that the judicial panel received no fewer than 20 petitions within two weeks of its inauguration.

The Chairman of the Panel, Hon. Justice Solomon Olugbemi (Rtd) noted that the sittings would be transparent and open; noting that media stations are invited to witness and cover the sittings.

Justice Olugbemi revealed that panel sitting days would be Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
