IG approves deployment of special force in southwest

IG approves deployment of special force in southwest

Worried by the increasing rate of crimes in the southwest, the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu has approved the deployment of a special force in the region to be headed by a Commissioner of police.


This is part of five point recommendations agreed on at the southwest zonal security summit held at the international conference centre, University of Ibadan, organized by the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu. 

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the Governor of oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde who read the Communiqué says all Governors in the region vows to remain committed to the provision of logistics, especially vehicles for combating crimes. 

The summit also agreed on the deployment of technological devices for crime prevention while traditional rulers also declared their support for the police and other security agencies.
