FIRS, State Accountant Generals, Others, Agree Tax Remittance

The Federal Inland Revenue Service, Accountant General of the 36 States and other stakeholders have agreed on prompt and continuous tax remittance for economic growth and development of Nigeria.

Speaking at the closing session of the closing session of Stakeholders forum on tax administration in Nigeria, the Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji described the engagement as fruitful noting that far reaching decisions have been agreed on by all Stakeholders.

While admitting the fact that tax payers in Nigeria are kings, Adedeji stressed that necessary reforms are being implemented to ease burden on the people but emphasized the need for compliance across board.

He implored the Accountant General of the 36 States to ensure regular Remittance of tax as well as compliance with all tax laws operational in the country.

Some of the participants at the meeting lauded the initiative of the Federal Inland Revenue Service and promised to comply with all decisions arrived at.
