FG Read Riot Act To Implementing Partners Over Sabotage.
Worried by the unbecoming attitude of some implementing partners in the Education Sector, the Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman, has read riot act to some of the partners who are sabotaging the efforts of the Federal Government in this regard.
Speaking through the Minister of State for Education, Dr Yusuf Sununu, Prof. Mamman in his keynote remark at the closing session of the President Bola Tinubu's Inter Senior secondary Schools Debate Championship in Abuja, maintained that the federal government is currently investigating activities of some of its partners.
He specifically mentioned a statement issued by one of the partner to the effect of staging a debate on same sex marriage in Nigeria as well as the statement on the increase in school fees in Government schools across the country, saying those statements have no backing of the government.
The Minister therefore urged Implementing partners to operate in line with the policy framework of the the federal government for the education sector or face appropriate sanctions.
In his remark, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, who was represented by a Director in his office, Simon Tiyungu, said the Tinubu led administration remains committed to providing sound and qualitative education for Nigerian Children.
On his part, the Chairman, National Advisory Board PSDN, Hon. Usman Muhammad, speaks on the performances of the six participating states in the National exercise.
At the end of the final, Enugun state emerged as winner of the Competition, while Osun State came second and followed by Rivers State.
