Benue threathens to pull out of forum
Prominent sons and daughters of Benue have called on the state governor, Samuel Ortom, to pull out of the Northern Governors’ Forum, if nothing is done to address the current genocidal attack on its people.
While speaking at a stakeholders meeting held in Makurdi, the state capital, they commended the governor for its steadfastness and courage so far in the face of the killings, says restructuring is the only solution to challenges facing this country for peace to reign.
The meeting which had eminent sons and daughters from across the three senatorial zones of the state in attendance also had religious leaders, traditional rulers, chieftains and members from different political parties, lawmakers, Senators, House of Representative members, elderstateman including women and youths.
Governor Ortom, thanked them for their presenc and says he would continue to pursue the rule of law despite the killings.
The governor confirmed receiving report of Fulani herders arrested four days ago after they killed 4 persons in Guma and Logo local government areas of the state, saying they would soon be arraign in court.
He however, called for more security personnel in Agatu community which is now been invaded.
