The Nigeria police alongside other security agencies carried out a show of force across major roads in Lagos ahead of Saturday's local government election. The show of force led by the commissioner of police Olohundare Jimoh is to display the readiness of security operatives in the state to maintain law and order before, during and after the election. ‎Cp Olohundare Jimoh emphasized that necessary tactic shall be deployed in and around every polling zone to maintain law and order during the election processes. He said Police has deployed an additional 10,000 personnel to compliment Lagos state command for the local government elections.

‎At a special forum held after the show of force with senior officers at the officers mess, Cp Jimoh revealed that the earlier announcement of vehicular movement restrictions which was to commence from 3am on Saturday has been reviewed downward to 6am through to 3pm on the Election Day. Police deploy an additional 10,000 personnel to compliment Lagos state command for the local government elections.
