Ekiti appoints directors
The Ekiti state government has appointed council chairmen and councillors in the state.
The appointments followed the recent suspension of the sixteen elected Council Chairmen and 177 Councilors by the state House of Assembly to pave the way for an investigation of alleged maladministration across the councils.
The Governor warned the new appointees who are civil servants, to justify their appointments and not see the appointment as an opportunity to milk the local governments.
He also clarified that the suspended elected council bosses have not been sacked and might be restored after the ongoing investigation.
The suspended Chairmen had also described their suspension as unconstitutionality.
