The explosion which occurred at the police Explosion ordinance disposal unit of the Ekiti state police command.

 

The impact of the explosion shattered buildings nearby and destroyed windows and ceiling of houses within the premises of the Old Governor's office where the ministry of Local government and chieftaincy affairs is located.

 

The Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi who visited the scene directed the immediate relocation of the explosives ordinance disposal Office of the police.

 

The Commissioner of police in Ekiti state, AMBA ASUQUO said there was no casualty and said his men are on top of the situation.

 

Others called on residents of Ekiti state not to panic as the situation has been brought under control.
