Dickson tasks Nig. engineers on research

The Bayelsa state governor Dr. Seriake Dickson has charged engineers to imbibe the culture of engaging in laboratory research, as the country is deficient in that area.


He gave the charge in Yenagoa while commissioning the Nigeria Society of Engineers laboratory centre, and laying the foundation stone of South South engineering resource centre.

Governor Dickson, who was represented by his deputy Real Admiral John Jonah retired, performed the commissioning and foundation laying before proceeding to the auditorium where he spoke on the need for research.

Speaking further, the Bayelsa deputy governor emphasize on the need for quality control, while the president Council for the regulation of Engineering in Nigeria also spoke on the best practices.

When completed, the centre will have a three thousand capacity event centre, administrative halls as well as workshops. The high point of the commissioning was the inauguration of inspectorate team of the NSE by the deputy governor.
