Customs To Adopt Technological Devices For Border Patrol

The Nigeria Customs Service has disclosed its readiness to adopt all available technological devices to ensure the safety of borders as well as bring smuggling to its barest minimum.

This was said by the Assistant Comptroller General of Customs Service Saidu Abba Yusuf during a courtesy visit and appraisal analysis of the Ogun Area 2 Customs Command in Abeokuta on Thursday, the state capital.

He maintained that the Customs Service Agency is having synergy with other sister agencies to ensure that there is effective control of the border to end illegal activities.
He acknowledged the improvement of Area 2 Command in Abeokuta, noting that management is quite happy with the performance here under the leadership of Controller Alade.

Speaking further,, the ACG admitted that the state of border in the Southwest is porous while sounding a strong warning to those who are contemplating bringing any illicit drugs, or illegal firearms and others to have a rethink. He said the current leadership customs Service is very active and effective in intelligence gathering.

On his part, the Comptroller of Ogun 2 Area command, AOB Alade appreciated the Zone A Coordinator, Saidu Yusuf for his commendation to the command.

He appealed for the provision of more accommodation of officers and men of his command, while also noting that the thirty-man rank and file block needs urgent renovation as it is already dilapidated.
